The Nose
A crisp green apple aroma takes the lead, accompanied by delicate nutty undertones, particularly reminiscent of pistachio. An unexpectedly fresh opening for a winter edition.
The Palate
An unexpected apple character takes centre stage, despite the promise of pistachio and berries. The fruitiness is pleasant enough, though the advertised berries seem to have gone into hibernation.
The Finish
A delicate, slightly bitter pistachio note emerges towards the end, offering a welcome contrast to the fruity opening. The nuts, it seems, preferred a late entrance.
The Verdict
An unconventional composition that somehow works better than expected. The pistachio is subtle, the berries elusive, and the apple entirely uninvited. Nevertheless, a surprisingly enjoyable interpretation of winter.
